Wonderfully integrated life and art! So great to see the work and learn more about the artist, whom I admire very much. Madeline captures the joy, the roller-coaster ride, the improvisation of mothering young children that is completely relatable. So glad she is getting her due.

Congratulations and thank you for your candor in this article. I was fascinated to read about your path after SMFA — wanting jobs that provided health care, working on private libraries, etc. I admire how are you meld your children and your life as an artist.
When we were both students at SMFA, you helped me with my project about five generations of women in my family. How quickly time passes — that was many years ago now.
